Guest scores and detailed hotel feedback
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and considerate, which I truly appreciated, but the room smelled really bad like urine, especially on the 9th floor. The lack of proper cold air conditioning was also quite frustrating, as it took until 4 am to cool down. The shuttle service to the airport was a great perk though.
I couldn't have been happier. The hotel is conveniently located right off the Sam Houston Tollway, about 10-15 minutes from IAH. The staff were exceptionally nice, and the full bar was a great addition. However, the noisy aircon unit was a bit of a letdown.
My stay at the hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. The rooms definitely need an update as they were old, rusted, and had a strange smell. The noise from the AC and hallways was quite bothersome due to the old design and furniture. On a positive note, the service was outstanding with the staff being friendly, helpful, and even surprising me with a lovely gesture of a card, flowers, and chocolates. The location, although convenient for the event I was attending, seemed a bit concerning after sunset. When it comes to dining, the food was decent, but the prices were on the higher side for what was offered. The facilities were adequate but nothing outstanding.
The hotel could use an upgrade in various areas, such as the rooms needing an update and being noisy due to old design and furniture. However, the service was excellent, and the location offered convenient access to highways. The dining experience was described as basic but fresh, with room for improvement in pricing.
The hotel rooms on the 9th floor have a putrid sour smell similar to urine, and there is considerable noise due to the proximity to the highway and poor soundproofing. Although the rooms are up to Marriott standards, they are not particularly great for the price charged.
My stay at the hotel was pretty good overall. The rooms were well maintained and clean, but I felt they could have been a little better. The hotel had a vibe that was a bit 'best western-ish' which was fine.
